This Privacy Policy explains how Oomsy Ltd ("Oomsy", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our apps, websites, and related services. We process data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
By using Oomsy, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
We collect personal information that enables us to operate, provide, and improve our services. This may include:
Account and contact details such as your name, email, and authentication data;
Inputs and interactions such as text, voice notes, and any information you provide through the app;
Contextual or connected-service data that you authorise (for example, calendar events or household settings);
Usage information including app activity, device identifiers, and general diagnostic data; and
Billing and marketing preferences managed through third-party payment or communication providers.
You decide what information to share. If you choose to provide information that reveals sensitive details (for example, dietary or accessibility preferences), we will process it only with your consent.
We use personal information to:
We may combine information from Oomsy with public or partner sources to enhance relevance and reliability.
We rely on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
Contract: processing necessary to provide the service you request;
Consent: for special-category information or optional features;
Legitimate interests: to operate, improve, and secure Oomsy where risks to individuals are minimal; and
Legal obligation: to meet statutory or regulatory requirements.
Oomsy uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to interpret your inputs and generate responses. We do not train external foundation models on identifiable user data. We may analyse anonymised or aggregated usage patterns to improve accuracy, safety, and performance. Outputs are generated automatically and may not always be accurate—please verify before acting on them.
Certain features rely on information that may reveal sensitive personal details. We request explicit consent before processing such information. You can withdraw consent at any time via settings or by emailing hello@oomsy.ai.
If consent is withdrawn, related features may stop working and your account may be restricted or closed if continued use would be unlawful. Where possible, a limited version of the service will remain available. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing.
When you include information about other individuals (for example, family members), you confirm that you have their consent or authority and that Oomsy processes that data under your control as household information.
Oomsy uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the service. Essential cookies are required for functionality. Analytics or marketing cookies are used only with your consent, and you may change your preferences at any time.
We engage a limited number of trusted service providers to support the operation of Oomsy—for hosting, AI processing, analytics, payments, and communications. These providers act on our behalf under written agreements that limit their use of personal data to authorised purposes.
We do not sell or rent personal data. If ownership of Oomsy changes, personal data may transfer to the successor entity under the same protections.
Personal data may be processed outside the United Kingdom. When this occurs, we rely on recognised safeguards—such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms—to ensure adequate protection.
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to deliver the service and meet legal or contractual obligations. Inactive data is periodically reviewed and deleted in line with our retention policy. Aggregated and anonymised data may be retained for analytics and service improvement.
We take security seriously and apply appropriate technical, organisational, and procedural measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we maintain safeguards designed to reduce risk and regularly review our systems to uphold suitable protection.
If a data incident occurs that may affect you, we will investigate and, where required by law, notify you and relevant authorities.
Under UK data-protection law you may:
Contact hello@oomsy.ai to exercise these rights. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Oomsy is designed for adult use and does not create child accounts. Adult users may add limited household details—such as a family member's name, preferences, or allergies—to help manage family life. This information is processed under the adult user's control and used only to personalise outputs for the household, not to profile or communicate with a child directly. Parents remain responsible for the information they provide.
If we become aware of a personal-data breach that presents risk to your rights or freedoms, we will take steps to contain it and, where required, notify the ICO and affected users.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. When updates are significant, we will provide notice and, where necessary, request renewed consent.
